Babies seem to have their own hold on the space / time continuum. How else could a creature so small and weak cause simple tasks to take so long to complete (if at all). Doing the dishes, laundry, shopping; all take an exponential amount of time in the presence of one of these little wonders. And yet they can have the opposite effect. Late night / early morning exchanges can melt away under their watchful, silent gaze when their smiles can wipe away any deficit of sleep. They serve as an important guide to what is important in our lives.
