We took Ivan on our first road trip to Toronto for the Easter weekend. He did remarkably well considering he was strapped into a seat for six hours each way. This baby loves to stretch his arms and legs frequently (adorable to see in action) and being confined to a bucket in a fast moving vehicle wasn’t his idea of a joke at times. We stopped only twice both ways, delaying our travel time by about an hour.
Grandma and Pa Fenton planned some extraordinary meals for us. On Easter Saturday, for a fancy dinner, all of the Hamilton great aunts were present, enthused to meet the little man. Ivan became acquainted with his second cousin once removed, Nyalla. She's only a month his senior. When they met each other they actually reached out for one another. Somebody send me that photo! Ivan was very comfortable in his sleeping quarters: a beautifully designed wooden cradle Pa Fenton made for his own son in the early seventies. We had a great visit and we are thankful that Ivan passed his driving test to allow for more trips like this one. Next destination: Montreal shoe shopping!
