Thanksgiving Weekend '09

We packed up the family and drove to Toronto for Thanksgiving Dinner, hosted by the Fenton Grandparents. Only away for two nights and a full day, we tried to see as many of John’s relatives as possible. Ivan spent time with two sets of second cousins. He is a very social soul. People’s faces impress him and babies his age are a great source for his amusement. Neat to see he can learn well from other little miniature beings. For instance, if a another baby is able to crawl easily, he’ll spend much of his waking hours the following days trying to mimic what he saw them do the day before. If a baby is an excitable screamer he’ll decide that this is what he should work on next. He tends to try to perfect one task before moving on to the next. Hilariously, he’s taken to imitating our cat’s meow when greeted by Castro. The likeness to a meow is unmistakable. Castro says hello, and he says hello back in cat speak.
Pictured are John’s cousin’s offspring: Kyle’s nine month old girl, Nyala and Stephanie’s one year old girl, Emma.
